Humayun's Tomb, also known as Maqbaera e Humayun, stands as a monumental tribute to the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. Commissioned by his first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum (Haji Begum), the tomb's construction began in 1569-70. It was designed by the Persian architects Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, selected specifically by the Empress. Notably, it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, marking a significant architectural innovation.
