Description
When the United States finished the canal in 1914 their design and innovation was unparalleled. The lock system allowed ships to be lowered or raised up, depending on which ocean they were coming from. Since the sea level on the Pacific is different from the Atlantic, the system allows the ships to easily reach the other side. The same locks that were built in 1914 are up and running in present day. This is a monumental photo in my photography journey and hopefully you can feel the history being projected through it.
