Afrocentrism provides self-awareness and confidence – The more our children become familiarized with their African culture, traditions, history, and ancestry, the more likely they will be to excel academically and throughout their adult lives
From an Afrocentric perspective, a black person cannot truly speak for all Americans because black people are culturally African. Additionally, African culture and European culture – the culture of whites – are presumed to be fundamentally different and antagonistic.
